Papal Audience or Papal Angelus

This tour is striclty connected to the Jubilee of Mercy: we will vist the 4 papal  basilicas, of which 4 holy doors will be open. During  this holy year all pilgrims will go through them .


Day 1 St. Paul | Three Fountains Abbey

The tour starts at the Papal Basilica of St. Paul outside the walls, UNESCO heritage, built over St. Paull burial: it is a place of pilgrimage. Next stop to the Three Fountains Abbey complex, where tradition put the beheading of St. Paul. Finally, accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 2 St. John Lateran | St. Clement | St. Peter in Vincoli

This day starts from the Cathedral of Rome, called the Mother of all the Churches of the world: St. John Lateran, near which is the Holy Staircase, traditionally built with stones trodden by Jesus during the “Via Crucis”. In the Basilica tradition believed to be the fragment of the table on which Jesus consumed the Last Supper. Then you reach the Basilica of St. Clement, which preserves excavations of Rome in the 1st century, during the time of Peter and Paul. Short walk till Colosseum and Costantino’s Arch, and finally to the Basilica od St. Peter in Vincoli. Accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Vatican Museums | St. Peter | St. Mary Major | St. Praxede

Full morning visit of Vatican Museums and the Papal Basilica of St. Peter. In the Museums Popes preserved some of the most important masterpieces of all time. We will admire the Rooms painted by Raffaello and the Sistin Chapel, striclty connected with Michelangelo. Final visit to St. Peter square and Basilica, Bernini’s masterpiece and heart of Catholic Church. In the afternoon, by bus we will reach the Papal Basilical of St. Mary Major, one of the four papal basilicas in Rome. Final stop to the Basilica of St. Praxede,  that houses a segment of the pilar upon which Jesus was flogged. Accomodation in hotel, dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Papal Audience or Papal Angelus

After breakfast it will be possible to take part to Papal Audience or Papal Angelus (to be confimed due to availability and dates)
